For this project, we had to come up with two words that were opposites of each other, and represent them visually on two different posters, one image based and one text based.
I chose the words guilty and innocent. For the image based poster, I illustrated a fat cop arresting a donut. The irony and contrast between guilty and innocent is that while the cop is arresting a donut for being guilty of making the cop overweight, the donut is in fact innocent and the cop guilty for eating the donut. I used photoshop and a wacom intuos4 tablet to illustrate this.
For the text based part of the assignment, I manipulated text to make guilty look like bars of a jail cell. I used limited gradients to make it seem like innocent is inside the jail cell created by the letters of guilty. I used the color blue because while guilty is overwhelming the page, innocent is still innocent, and blue represents innocent.
